Plans, designs, develops, and implements network engineering plans, documentation and training in support of network configurations and new technology introductions.

Job Description

A senior IP engineer with Focus on supporting the CenturyLink HSIP, VPN, CDN and DCN networks. As a member of the global A&E team, the candidate will be required to work with the global team and become the SME for the technology, supporting NP&I, Implementation and Operations.

  • Develops detailed engineering plan designs and standards by interacting with cross-functional peers both internal and external.

  • Identifies and develops functional test requirements and analyses test results.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Writes method of procedure documents and templates for internal and external execution.

  • Provides technical support for standard activation, deployment, and maintenance activities and issues.

Qualifications

An experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; competent in resolving issues in primary area of expertise.

Networking/Telecommunications degree or similar experience

In-depth knowledge of Internet Protocol networks and VPNs

In-depth knowledge of Routing protocols – MLPS, BGP, OSPF

Networking certifications CCNP, JNCIP, CWNA, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP etc highly valued

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Highly professional and self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and on a team

Good troubleshooting skills and methodologies.

Experienced in analysing issues, distilling and communicating their relevant aspects.

Ability to work multiple efforts and projects in parallel.

Emerging leadership and mentoring skills.

Ability to proactively identify risks/issues and develop recommendations for resolution

Masters or Equivalent
