Responsible for project managing the development and launch of varying products and feature enhancements to the EMEA product portfolio; covering a range of technologies from Managed Network Services Security and Cloud-Enabled networking
Candidates will need to have an understanding of a New Product Development process and be able to work with the Product Manager to translate the market requirements into a development plan. Ownership of the full development cycle from product requirements gathering, creation of project & resource plans, managing the end to end development, problem resolution through to external launch. Will need to effectively manage a range of global and regional stakeholders to turn a new product idea into a reality.
Works alongside the Product Management function to build products that ensure CenturyLink has a competitive product portfolio.
Translates market requirements into business plans and business use cases.
Evaluates the cost, schedule, and design of the solution to decide the most efficient and effective development path for the business to bring a product to market.
Product Development and Implementation:
Leads day to day project delivery activities including milestone management, issue and risk management, change control management, and contingency planning. Reports project status on a regular basis to internal project teams and management.
Working with regional and global stakeholders across the business (Sales, Operations, Billing, Engineering, IT Systems etc) to define the scope of the project, and gain agreement on project schedule, impacts, and requirements.
Accountable for the development life cycle which includes inception, planning, executing, control and closure of multiple and concurrent product development projects.
Product Launch and Training:
Creates and delivers product, process and system training plans for internal teams in support of the product launch
Works with Product Management and global stakeholders to ensure a successful go to market launch plan
Improves product related processes to ensure a positive customer experience
Identifying areas of Product improvement by engaging with other areas of the organisation
Technical Knowledge & Skills: Must have intermediate understanding of telecommunications products and network capabilities associated with Internet and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking including Managed Network Services, Security and Cloud enabled networking.
Must have an intermediate understanding of a New Product Development process and product life cycle.
Must have an intermediate understanding of project management methodology
Communication: Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including writing of technical documents. Must be able to influence a project team of employee owners in a highly matrixed environment.
Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must be detail oriented.
Problem Solving: Intermediate analytical skills. Must be able to work through complex issues with a methodical approach. Must be able to understand and distill data into actionable items. Must have advanced data management ability.
Business Acumen: Must have an intermediate understanding of company financial measures and financial modelling. Must have an intermediate understanding of telecommunications and/or video transport industry.
Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge and usage of computer business applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project required. Ability to learn and operate internal company systems with intermediate ability.
Mathematic Ability: Must be able to accurately perform basic mathematic operations.
