Purpose of Position
We are increasing the size of our cloud specialist sales team. We are recruiting successful sales people that are naturally comfortable and adept at selling up to the CxO level of major corporations and that have a consistent track record of over performance, a passion for technology and an appetite to help customers transform their businesses. You will be responsible for driving new revenue and growth across our cloud services portfolio, through a solutions and consultative selling methodology. You will always deliver a great customer/partner experience leading to effective cloud solution initial purchase, deployment, migration and adoption, with month on month growth. You will develop market changing opportunities in your accounts that will lead to adoption of CenturyLink cloud solutions and technologies. Naturally you will build long term relationships with key customers and to manage those relationships on an ongoing life cycle basis.
New business focus. As a Senior Sales Professional you will be tasked identifying solution opportunities for CenturyLink, scoping the opportunities and partnering with Account Directors in closing business.
Competing & taking market share. Leveraging the compelling solutions available to sell you will be responsible for taking market share as we continue the growth trajectory to meet our business objectives. You will have a deep understanding of the Cloud Services market, encompassing; private, public and Hyperscale cloud (AWS, Azure & Google Cloud Platform). You will appropriately position CenturyLink’s Cloud Services portfolio within this to both our customer base and target accounts. Be able to position and sell a CenturyLink Cloud Services solution within the context of business goals and outcomes. This includes knowledge of Design, Transition, Migration and Operating Models.
Relationships. You will build long term business and IT relationships with key existing and target customers and to manage those relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle. You’ll advocate on behalf of the customer back into the CenturyLink organization and maximize the value delivered from the relationship. You will become a Cloud “trusted advisor” to the broader CenturyLink sales team and our customers.
Solution expertise. You will be adept in leading cloud sales engagements on large deals that take time & tenacity to close. You will add value to our customers by fostering the adoption of new technology & (genuinely!) innovative solutions where our competitive advantage can help shape the future of enterprise technology.
Collaboration. We work as a team; together we achieve great things and while we celebrate diversity amongst our people you will be expected to share experience, insight, thought-leadership & success. You will need to manage and quickly gain respect among subject matter experts within the company and be able to qualify and position additional CenturyLink services to extend the value proposition of the Cloud Services Portfolio – Managed services, Application Life Cycle Management, Networks, etc.
Evangelism . Lead the business conversation on CenturyLink’s Cloud Services blog post and webinars, be able to provide a contextually relevant business centric demonstration of CenturyLink’s Cloud Services capability. Speak on panels and at trade shows about how Cloud can solve business challenges and also provide relevance to specific industry sectors. Evangelise CenturyLink cloud services capabilities through sales opportunities and through education of the trends in the market on a regular basis.
Exemplify exceptional customer/partner collaboration skills and demonstrate poise and confidence in competitive sales environments
Effective understanding of the issues and pain points enterprise customers face and the demonstrable ability to address them with winning Cloud based solutions
Knowledge of vertical markets and IT drivers preferred
Demonstrable skills and deep understanding of how to position and sell Cloud Service solutions combined with a good understanding of the compliance and regulatory landscape that impacts cloud services
Experience with selling Hyperscale Cloud Services; AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
A good understanding of Cloud adoption and growth strategies from a business prospective, including but not limited to, commercial vehicles, contractual, risk mitigation and company hierarchy
Knowledge of the next wave of cloud services architectures and solutions and how contextualise these into business outcomes.
Ability to quickly master technical concepts, processes, details, and skills, and be able to effectively communicate them to a wide variety of audience
Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to influence senior decision makers in large Enterprises
Demonstrable insight and knowledge of competitive cloud solution providers and their capabilities from both a commercial and solution perspective including their value proposition
Demonstrated strategic time management and multitasking skills
Ability to understand complex business operations and IT issues and convey solutions and business value in clear terms
Strong, proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding quota using a consultative/solution selling approach
Exceptional organisational skills for the coordination of deal activities and a proven record of effective account and pipeline management, including Account Planning, Opportunity Generation and Management, Communication Planning, and Business Management Excellence
Resourceful problem-solver, leveraging internal and partner resources where and when needed to do what’s right for the customer and for the organization
Leading and working effectively within a virtual sales team, including having team members both inside and outside of the organization, driving strategic direction for opportunity closure and considering inputs from team members for the best outcome. Experience in a sales overlay position would be an advantage.
