The CenturyLink Account Director is part of a high performing global account team and is responsible for managing and growing our business with one CenturyLink’s largest and highest profile global customers.
This specific customer is an industry leading information provider, specializing in global content for FSI professionals and they use the full portfolio of CTL services across network and hosting.

CenturyLink is replacing Hong Kong based position to manage and grow the business we have by defining the strategy, positioning and selling CenturyLink’s portfolio
The role sits within a larger global account team and there is a global team target.
Key contributor to the global team new bookings and revenue targets
Generate thought leadership and become a trusted advisor to the end client.
Focus and drive to deliver exceptional results
Leverage existing financial industry contacts and relationships to establish need and build solutions for client problems and challenges.
Work with internal CTL product teams to ensure the client’s long term needs are considered in the CTL product roadmap.
Help define the GTM strategy with CTL’s Global Exchange Managers
Management of own pipeline of new opportunities to ensure consistent target achievement
Working with other members of the team to communicate the overall network sales strategy
Working with other members of the team to co-ordinate global opportunities.
Consistent identification and capture profitable revenue opportunities for CenturyLink services.
Improve sales penetration within chosen market sectors and key customers
Independently establish and grow new client base.
Accurate forecasting of monthly, quarterly achievement
Communicating effectively with peers, superiors, and other CenturyLink personnel.
Establish and lead virtual, often global sales and sales support teams to win key opportunities
Identify, understand and solve any obstacles or objections to the successful sale of CenturyLink services.
Form long-term relationships with key “D” level and “C” level decision makers to maximise business opportunities.
Adhere to CenturyLink best practice sales and internal qualification and approval processes
Participate actively in sales calls and bid reviews, demonstrating excellent sales and closing skills to the team.
Develop and manage internal relationships, earning the respect of colleagues at all levels across the business ensuring a cohesive internal structure.
The Account Director should possess:
At least 8 years relevant working experince in the Telecommunications industry
Previous experience covering a significant period of sales/IT/networking/communications, including:
A strong understanding of connectivity requirements and drivers for global financial markets.
a strong background in end user corporate sales into large global companies (i.e. peer-to-peer selling, board level contact, new business orientated);
existing senior level relationships within relevant financial industry companies (retail banking, Insurance and Capital Markets);
experience of complex high end selling in a long-term environment;
ideally experience gained in the outsourcing/managed hosting/cloud sector - some additional experience in the network service sector would be advantageous;
experience of selling international Financial Services is essential
Will have received structured professional sales training in a blue-chip environment, including having gained experience of a variety of sales methods – tried and tested tool kit.
Experience of working in highly competitive environments and constantly improving and delivering order intake margin and revenue.
Evidence of creative commercial deals, which have demonstrated affinity to the tailored requirements of the customer, whilst ensuring that requirements can be fulfilled without breaking the model.
Proven and strong experience in direct sales
Strong prospecting skills and experience
Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
Proficient use of PC hardware and software
Proficient use of internet for communication and research
Strong networking skills both on social media and in traditional network. Maintains long term relationships with clients
Experience of operating in an international environment
Network sales into large financial clients.
