This role is part of the EMEA Enhanced Technical Operational Support (ETOPS) team. The CenturyLink EMEA CDN (Content Delivery Network) ETOPs team provides Technical Service Management for some EMEA clients. The enhanced support includes dealing directly with clients on all CDN issues and acting as a liaison between the clients and the Level3 tiered support and operational structure. This post mainly operates on a Monday to Friday 07:00 to 19:00 basis but ad-hoc out of hours support may also be required.
Technical Service Management of EMEA CDN clients.
Integration of new products and product features for EMEA CDN clients.
Liaising between CenturyLink Technical Service Centre and the CDN Technical Operations Engineers providing knowledge base support for new and enhanced products and features.
Service Monitoring – this involves direct monitoring of clients’ accounts and reacting to network and service alerts.
Providing online support of live sporting and corporate online broadcasts.
Experience in IT industry, ideally in Internet technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Web architectures and website maintenance.
Ability to debug internet and website connectivity using cURL, traceroute, telnet, awk, sed and other diagnostic tools
Prior experience in a CDN, technical product support, or system administration experience.
Interest in large networks and system analysis.
Interest in how distributed systems work.
Ability to analyze technical issues with websites and services and to determine the correct path of repair or escalation.
