Centurylinks Emerging Technologies Sales Consultant (ETSC) will be responsible for managing the assigned territory for all Centurylink business market segments. ETSC will be responsible for building relationships with BMG (Direct Sales) and Indirect Sales Channels as the Cloud Computing Sales Specialists. Additionally The ETSC will develop and qualify opportunities through their own networks and relationships. The suite of services this position will be responsible for selling includes Centurylink Hosted Cloud Services, traditional dedicated Managed Hosting Services, Storage and Back-up Services as well as network access to these hosted environments.
Job Responsibilities:
* Primary Activity: Own end-to-end all sales-related activities for the assigned region, working with Centurylink direct sales executives on opportunities as well as to develop new Cloud/Managed Hosting prospects autonomously.
* Be the expert in Cloud/Managed Hosting technology and lead Centurylink account teams and Centurylink prospects in understanding how this technology can be leveraged and augment their data center/IT strategy.
* Effectively qualify opportunities to ensure greatest return on time and resource investment across territory (financial state/budget, propensity to outsource, growth/trouble, etc.)
* Develop key relationships with clients at an executive level to advance the sale or to further develop the revenue stream associated with that account.
* Work with Product Marketing to understand upcoming enhancements to be able to train customers and account teams.
* Participate in community and industry-related events to further develop the opportunities to procure new business.
* Understand and implement Miller Heiman strategic sales techniques (training provided by Centurylink)
* Account planning with Sales VP, Sales Director, and Sales Managers in their assigned territory.
* Provide various levels of reports for top opportunities, weekly progress reports, accurate monthly forecasts, branch updates, account review documentation, updates to salesforce.com as well as any ad hoc report requests generated by management.
Position Objectives:
* Create and manage Market Sales Plan (GTM Plan)
* Achieve or exceed monthly revenue targets.
* Ensure and maintain that minimum funnel goals are met or exceeded.
* Aid Centurylink product development to understand how modification to the Hosted Cloud Services platform can meet customer objective and requirements
Essential duties:
* Work with Centurylink account teams to provide leadership in creating account strategies around Centurylink Cloud/Managed Hosting offerings for the assigned territory.
* Independently identify, qualify, and capture revenue opportunities for Centurylink Hosting Solutions.
* Communicate effectively with Project Engineering, Centurylink operations, product development, peers, superiors and other Centurylink personnel.
Basic Qualifications
Required skills:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in selling complex IT infrastructure solutions to medium and enterprise businesses.
* Demonstrated success in applying consultative selling techniques to opportunities.
* Proven and verifiable track record in exceeding sales quotas.
* Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
* High energy and drive.
* Demonstrated success in having sold one or more of the following:
Managed Hosting
Managed Security
Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery
Collocation
Professional Services
Managed Network solutions

IP Consulting
Education:
* Bachelors Degree
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated level of success in the development of client relationships
* Demonstrated experience selling a combination of the following strongly preferred:
