Job Description Position Summary:
The Service Technician installs telephone plant facilities and high-speed internet at customer premises according to specifications directed and established by CenturyLink procedures. This includes maintaining, expanding, replacing and repairing all plant facilities and subscriber apparatus required to provide service to customers. The Service Technician interacts directly with CenturyLink customers and support sales efforts through iLead.

Responsibilities: 



* Install, repair, test and modify line and station telephone equipment for customers using hand tools, power tools, and computer interfaces.

* Include repairs to outside wires and tree trimming, and place new drops.

* Inspect subscriber premises to determine the appropriate method of installation.

* Test newly installed telephone/equipment using testing devices and repair or replace faulty equipment.

* Perform appropriate testing to ensure proper transmission and supervision specifications.

* Work closely with the Dispatch Center for work assignments such as trouble reports and service orders.

* Record transmission readings, daily time, and function codes in Work Force Management.

* Install and maintain subscriber PairGain Devices.

* Refurbish cable and install facilities within pedestals and/or terminals.

* Climb poles using hooks, ladders or bucket trucks, attach terminal boxes and carrier housings, and repair or replace defective lines and auxiliary equipment.

* Unreel and string aerial lines; install conduits and pole hardware.

* Observe all safety rules and regulations.

* Correct prints and maintain as-builts in accordance with company practice and policies.

* Install and maintain data and station wiring and apparatus, maintain loop plant, including analog and digital subscriber carrier.

* Assist other Technical personnel in performance of their duties when requested.

* Transport, set up, and run portable generator sets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Sales and Care Representatives will be hired as temporary, full-time employees and may transition to regular, full-time positions depending on attendance, performance and position availability. During the temporary period employees are not eligible for CenturyLink benefits. Job Functions

* Responsible for fielding inbound calls from potential and existing customers and selling CenturyLink products and services on every call

* Performing credit reviews, establishing accounts in the billing system, and providing customer service and solutions to problems

In addition to a base pay of$10.50/hour, Sales &amp; Care Representatives are assigned monthly sales quotas and must maintain customer service quality expectations to attain additionaltargeted sales incentive, which isapproximately $9,900 yearlyfor meeting 100% of the goal!

Training is 13 weeks, M-F, 9am-6pm for the first five weeks and then M-F 10am -7pm for the balance of the training period.
You MUST be able to attend entire 13 weeks of training without time off!
Current hours of operation for the center are 8am to 7pm. Monday-Friday and Saturday 9am to 2pm. Work hours are based on seniority. Mandatory overtime may be required, based on call volumes during normal hours of operation.

Job Description The Business Systems technician sells, installs and maintains all regulated and non-regulated services and equipment offered by CenturyLink.
